CKA Vice-Champ!

I’m stoked to say that I finished #2 in the overall rankings of the east coast tour for the CKA (Collegiate Kiteboarding Association). I managed to pull off a few podiums in freestyle, strapless surf, and an overall 1st place in the racing category to place me as the vice-champion among the east coast schools! Also, our kiteboading club at Florida Atlantic University was able to take the gold with the most overall points. This has been a great way to end my education before graduating, and I look forward to the National Championship this May where we will have the chance to compete against western schools in Cape Hatteras, NC.

1st CKA Stop: Cocoa Beach

Not my best riding, but I managed to place 4th at the first stop of the 2012-2013 CKA tour. The conditions were butter flat with gusty offshore winds. About 30+ riders showed up from almost every Florida university. Freestyle was the core discipline held.

I spent some time this summer kiting the Columbia River Gorge. I was lucky enough to meet and session with BEST riders Chris Bobryk, Jacob Buzianis, and Paul Porter. This is a short video from those sessions in Hood River, Oregon and Stevenson, Washington.
